My name is Jonas Olsen and I am a 26 year old man living on an island called Senja in Northern Norway. As a child I was very creative and enjoyed many art forms: drawing, fly tying, painting, building models, carving swords (to fight off other children) and in general constructing things out of everything I could get my hands on. I have also always had a very vivid imagination and I often get clear mental images of ideas for future projects.

 

I have been doing creative things on and off throughout my entire life, but I started doing woodcarving actively in 2015. I've always wanted to try to make something out of it. This had me thinking about what I could make and sell to other people. I eventually landed on making wooden jewelry. The first 100 pendants I made where looking pretty bad, I must be honest, but eventually I found my own style and from that, I have been able to make many beautiful different pendants and a few sculptures as well. My dream is to one day make a living out of my artwork.

 

I have recently started making Youtube videos and it is great fun, but it is very time consuming as well. I can see that a lot of people are engaging with my videos and I appreciate that a lot! I also think it is wonderful to be able to answer technical questions people have about woodcarving.

 

Right now my plan is to work very hard on my Youtube channel and to try to evolve as an artist as much as I can. ​
